Mostly A’s: The show off

You might have created a slightly enhanced version of yourself on facebook which you are now struggling to maintain and you may be probe to making slightly fake comments that you don’t really mean.

Watch out for:

Pictures of you in misguided fancy dress or wigs with ‘amusing’ facial expressions and/or poses. What seems hilarious at the time might just look creepy and slightly embarrassing in a random unexplained photograph.

Mostly B’s: The intellectual/artist

If you were a true intellectual/artist would you really need to prove/promote yourself on facebook? Maybe you need to lighten up and take things less seriously. Remember facebook is supposed to be a social application tool; try to at least appear to use it socially.

Watch out for:

This group is probably the most likely to be defriended as you’re activity can be seen as opportunist or boring. (Although perhaps a small cost to pay for getting a few more click thru’s to your website?)

Mostly C’s: The facebook addict

If you’re ever away from facebook for more than 24 hours you feel a void in your life and you regularly spend more than an hour on it at a time. While this behaviour might be almost excusable during the winter months, spring is upon us now so it’s time to go cold turkey for three months then gradually phase it back in in small doses.

Watch out for:

Over exposure: Are long posts about what you’re going to have for dinner or the black and white underwear shots really necessary?

Mostly D’s: The sharer

It’s good to share and that’s what facebook is supposedly for after all. However, maybe you need to work on your own profile and let someone else take and upload the group photographs for a while. If you do this it could go one of two ways: You’ll either feel immensely liberated or that you have lost your control/power.

Watch out for:

You’re the most likely to tag unflattering photos of people, so you may be the victim of ‘revenge tagging’.

Mostly E’s: The cool kid:

You’re likely to have some friends and profile pictures but no activity. You obviously go on facebook as you’ve signed up and accepted friends; you just don’t like admitting it. You’re clearly ‘too cool for school’ but perhaps a little mean spirited – come on, play the game.

Watch out for:

Your cover being blown when tags on certain unflattering photos of you mysteriously disappear.
