Matt Cardle and Take That - no match for Rihanna and Christina Aguilera

Poor Matt Cardle. He has quite literally sung his little painting and decorating heart out these past few months – squeezing out notes no man should really attempt while sacrificing his health in the process – only to be be well and truly thumped in the last round by Rihanna and Christina Aguilera.

In one fell swoop of their stilettos the pop A-listers blasted the previous headlining act; ‘Dannii and Cheryl’s B list fashion face off’ into second place with ‘Matt; I’m singing so high I might keel over at any minute’ coming a distant 4th behind ‘Simon Cowell; smuggest creature ever to have lived (and I’m not even trying)’.

Rihanna happily worked the towering transvestite look in a dress split to her bum and beyond for her first act and then spread her legs while squatting in back breaking heels for her second. Christina, on the other hand, opted for the ‘plump mum in underwear’ comeback with an added touch: skinny dancers prancing around her to make her look even more inappropriate. Guaranteed headlines all round.

Rebbecca didn’t stand a chance: she simply stood there, looked pretty and sang. She didn’t sacrifice a thing – not her health, nor her pride, not even her back.

I mean, come on, even Take That went down the pride sacrificing route with their awkward and over milked ‘ooh, look how sensitive we all are’ comeback routine. (Just don’t mention the affairs.)
