Celebrating women

Being female today

Ever since I can remember I have wanted to be a boy and not the girl I was born.

Over the years I have asked many men if they would have preferred to have been born female, none have said they would.

We have a long way to go towards worldwide equality of the sexes.

Being a female is complicated. The media puts far too much pressure on women, and women are still suffering, many right in front of our eyes.

I know I have missed the deadline for your ‘Celebrating women’ competition but nevertheless I’d like to submit this video to your site.

The video shows a series of images that I hope will evoke in the viewer a sense of what it is to be a woman today.

I’d like to dedicate this video to Sally Clark, a lady who was deeply betrayed by this world. You can read Sally’s story by clicking here.

Erm... Not sure we agree. You can hardly compare PMS to the football season. And the rest of your comment is just stereotypical waffle as far as I can see. Its a far more complex issue than your simplistic and all too often repeated list of 'double standards' makes it out to be.

I agree. Why is it socially acceptable for women to dress in men's clothing but not for men to dress in women's. The world is filled with double standards, woman crying is sensitive whereas real men don't cry. Man goes out with younger woman, normal whereas woman with younger man is a cougar and he is a toy boy. Romantic fiction and Chick-lit rubbish for women only. Twenty-two men in their pyjamas kicking a toy around in the park, the most important thing since the first coming. Being 100% rational good being emotional bad. Yet really what separates the sexes, breasts? Men have moobs. Women have multiple orgasms but so do men. Women have PMS (PMT etc) men have the football season and so on.
