THE QUEEN AND MICHELLE OBAMA - SISTERS IN ARMS

How great to see the Queen and Michelle Obama share such a touching moment.

As The Times reports:

‘It is usually a breach of protocol to touch the Queen. But as the two women stood side by side, chatting about their height difference, she put her hand on the back of Mrs Obama, who did the same for a few moments. Before she departed, Mrs Obama told the Queen: “I really enjoyed our meeting.”’

Some negative; ‘What about protocol?’ reactions might lead you to wonder whether there’s a general fear that Michelle might have crushed our monarch to death with those over debated biceps of hers;)

And yet, with such a heart warming story to discuss, involving two of the world most influencial women; on the very day the newspapers are claiming that having a sister makes you happier, the BBC still had time this morning for four seemingly intelligent adults to discuss whether Michelle Obama should really be showing her arms, whether her clothes are more expensive than Sarah Browns and why Sarah seems to wear more muted tones than her American counter part.

The mind boggles.
