Death to Glamour: About Us
Introducing the DeathToGlamour Editorial Team
We have spent the past three months searching the UK for a group of talented female writers who aren’t afraid to say it like it is. I am pleased to confirm the team as:
Recently liberated ex advertising whore. Prone to rants, she appreciates black comedy and Brixton and struggles with convention and hypocrisy.
Barbie@DeathToGlamour.com
Aerophobic broadsheet tabloid junkie and literature graduate who rarely finishes a book. A cynic who falls in love every day and a musician too shy to perform. Can't sit still but will surrender to paralysis when the Sauvignon blanc appears. Eclectic catalogue of talents e.g. tap dancing, henna tattooing, wanderlust-satisfying, cross-stitching and climbing mountains (Kilimanjaro done - next please). Currently idolising Dannii Minogue (no apologies, she's heavenly) and Prof. Brian Cox. Likes to be alone in a crowd...usually airports.

Dolly Bird lives and works in London. She likes Heat magazine, the Vampire Diaries, Freitag and burgers. She dislikes Michael McIntyre and people who call Glastonbury 'Glasto'.

Elizabeth Raine is a recent college graduate with degrees in Theatre and English. In her spare time she acts, writes, sings, knits, and runs, though usually not at the same time. She also has a much greater knowledge of Final Fantasy, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and Star Trek than most people would be willing to admit.

A mature, plump, short-sighted and lazy spinster, Fosca Leonforte was born near Venice and brought up everywhere including the Eldorado. By the age of 35 she had experienced unemployment in seven European countries. She is an unpublished writer of social satires in French and Italian who continues to write despite the intellectual inertia that prevails among publishers. An authentic misanthrope, Fosca Leonforte briefly trained as a hatmaker in London and Paris and used to play the violin and the mandoline a long time ago.

Leah Smith is a 22 year old journalism graduate who doesn't know how to talk to humans and enjoys big glasses and falling in love on public transport.
Little_Leah@DeathToGlamour.com
Tayo Jisi is a fun, friendly and fierce media and arts project coordinator from South London. She has a lust for life, raspberry daiquiri's, old school hip-hop, classic movies and Will Smith.
Tjisi@DeathToGlamour.com
Vikkie is a 23 year old, English, Film & Theatre graduate, currently jumping between temp work as Gordon Brown made it so she can't get a permanent job. Loves men she can't have and shoes she can't walk in.

Death to Glamour was set up in 2009 by Elliot and Lucy; two people with a desire to give individuals a platform to share their thoughts, opinions and ideas with others.
This site is the antithesis of Glamour magazine: we don't try to tell you how to live your life; instead, we share thoughts around the bizarre phenomenon that is life, through blogs, stories and column style pieces.
We have no hidden agenda, simply individual views with absolutely no spin. This site is for you to break your own story - anything, from Death to Glamour; whatever subject is on your mind.
To ensure the core site retains a consistent editorial tone, all contributors are 'invited' to sign up. Once signed up, you're able to comment throughout the site, and add articles to your own blog e.g. www.DeathToGlamour.com/blog/username. If you add an article that we particularly like the look of, we'll copy it over to the core site. If we copy several of your articles to the core site, we'll upgrade your site access, so you can add articles to the core site whenever you like.
We're interested in hearing from people with ideas and opinions, who question life and are open to its challenges. You retain the copyright of all your material, we simply offer you a sharing platform with tools that enable you to join our community and build your online portfolio.
Whether you're an occasional browser just dipping in to see what's going on, or an established writer looking for a new platform to air your views, welcome. We are fortunate to be living at a time when technology enables us to openly and immediately share with others throughout the world, in a forum where we are all equal. Let's celebrate that together.
